| T.E.C. Higher Diploma | T.E.C. Higher Diploma in Land, Sea and Engineering Surveying and Mapping. This was taken at North East London Polytechnic (Now the University of East London) during 1980 and 1981. I obtained distinctions in Maths, Computing, Astro and Trigonometric Surveying. The qualification exempted me from parts I and II of the R.I.C.S. finals.
Following this I also attended the R.I.C.S. finals course (part III) for a year concentrating on the geodesy option. I was extremely privileged to be taught by Paul Cross (now Professor Cross) and this gave me a good grounding in geodesy and GPS. |

| Computers/IT | I can programme in Visual Basic, HTML and Javascript. I produce websites in my spare time, and maintain the Van der Graaf Generator website. I also co-wrote "Van der Graaf Generator - The Book". |
| Photography | I have my own colour darkroom at home, but this has been superceded by digital of late. Nowadays I use a Canon EOS 600D camera. |
